On the pledge:

Set up of a monitoring and observation mechanism for child labour in small mines in the DRC. This mechanism is of huge importance as it reinforces the national arsenal in the fight against child labour.

On the implementation:

The government of the DRC, through the competent bodies, will carry out the process of creating the mechanism using a participatory and multi-stakeholder approach. This includes the development of technical tools, actions to raise awareness and remove children, organizing workshops, the integration of the scheme into national policy, capacity building.

On the impact:

Through the identification of and data on the number of children and small mining sites that child labour takes place in, we will be able to handle the situation and promote sustainable and suitable solutions to eliminate this social scourge in the DRC's mining chains of custody.
