On the pledge:

We will work together with the tripartite partners as well as the State governments to put in place relevant provisions in policies and laws that protect children from exploitation and exposure to child labour.

On the implementation:

We will obtain consent from Somalia’s competent authority regarding the ratification, conduct consultations with the Tripartite partners, communicate formal ratification of the convention to the Director-General of the ILO, and take actions at Federal and State levels to make effective the provisions of the convention.

On the impact:

The ratification will provide avenues for strengthening the legal, policy, and institutional frameworks to prevent the entry of children into Child Labour and accelerate the sustainable development of human potential and economic growth in Somalia.
