On the pledge:
We will educate students and professionals in Uganda, Norway and elsewhere about the causes and effects of child labour based on scientific evidence and children's experiences, and train 30 youth in innovation and entrepreneurial skills and provide them with long-term mentorship to create job development.
On the implementation:
We will release a podcast interview on child labour, organise a 3-week Summer Course in Innovation and Conflict Transformation with African Youth Initiative Network (AYINET), facilitate a webinar together with the Journal of Modern Slavery linked to the launch of their special issue on child labour in September 2021, and develop a bachelor course in human rights and labour rights in 2021 with an added child labour perspective.
On the impact:
This Action Pledge will contribute to job development for young persons in Northern Uganda, an area where child labour often occurs.
