On the pledge:
Within 7 months, guide 500 women, and their children, working in and around the Lenge mining site towards non-mining income-generating activities, through training on entrepreneurship, savings and access to microcredit from a local microfinance institution.
On the implementation:
The action pledge has a detailed timetable, from recruiting the women in May to assessing the pledge in December.
On the impact:
This pledge reduces the risk of children being present in mining sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
